Financials Unshackled is a newsletter that offers perspectives on critical developments and themes in the Banking & Specialty Finance (Financials) domain - most particularly focused on the UK & Ireland, but also with a wider Global remit.

I was, most recently, an institutional equity & fixed income analyst at Goodbody mainly specialising in UK & Irish Banks (and real estate) research. I was consistently a top-ranked analyst in the firm in an institutional equity client revenue recognition context and was also frequently invited to present to UK bank & building society Boards / Executive Committees and at conferences / All-Parliamentary Party Groups / etc. I am a Qualified Chartered Accountant (FCA) with deep and broad senior-level PQE experience throughout my career to date - in Capital Markets (2015-24), Government (2012-15), PLC Group Strategy (2011-12), and Corporate Finance (2003-11).

I have degrees from University College Cork (BSc) and The London School of Economics (MSc) - and I was recently awarded a Certificate in FinTech from Harvard University.
